Year-End Giving Every year, 28% of all students in Saskatoon Public Schools have not achieved grade level literacy in reading by Grade 3. This is 500 students every single year. Young learners within core communities are further disadvantaged due to life circumstances and as many as 60% of students do not achieve Grade 3 level literacy. Grade 3 level literacy is a key milestone that serves to predict future successes. A child who cannot read by Grade 3, is four times less likely to graduate from high school. In late November we launched Early Learning Equal Start, a campaign with a goal to achieve 100% grade 3 level literacy by grade 3 in Saskatoon Public Schools 15 Community Schools. All children deserve every chance at success: in school, in a career, in life. Help us realize our ambitious goal. It’s bold, it’s critical and with your help, it’s possible. Every donation counts. As we come to the end of this year we are asking you to continue to partner with us to make a strong start to 2021! Your financial partnership ensures students can continue to receive the supports and programs they need to reach critical literacy goals.
