All In For Literacy Day Presented by Graham

Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation is celebrating the third annual All In for Literacy Day presented by Graham!

SPSF is inviting over 500 students from 20 Saskatoon Public Elementary Schools to join us downtown for a street-fair field trip day. The event includes fun and educational activity stations led by local organizations and individuals.

All In for Literacy Day presented by Graham celebrates education and the hard work of schools and teachers while bringing awareness to the daily challenges faced in our schools and community. The day also provides opportunity to recognize National Day for Truth and Reconcilliation on September 30. To eliminate any potential barries, All In for Literacy Day is free of charge for all attending schools. Bussing, food, and take-home items are provided and paid for by SPSF and its partners.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

Any additional funds raised for the event will go toward the All In Campaign to continually fund SPSF’s Early Learning Equal Start (ELES) initiatives. The key initiatives supported by ELES and the All In Endowment are:

  • 29 Full-day, Every Day, Kindergarten classes in 25 schools
  • Page Turners Literacy Tutors in all eligible Saskatoon Public Schools
  • Camp Brain Power for over 520 students

These initiatives are in direct response to the fact that each year, almost 30% of students in Saskatoon Public Schools, through no fault of their own, do not achieve Grade 3 literacy upon the completion of Grade 3. These facts are even more concerning in our core neighborhoods, where up to 60% of Grade 3 students do not achieve this critical milestone that can set them on a path for on-time high school graduation. With programming, over 80% of students in the core schools are shown to achieve expected benchmarks. Undoubtedly, these programs are supporting Saskatoon Public Schools students, which is our ultimate goal.
